BRDE was born in 2006 with a thread on AR15.com, where I posed the question about the need for a dimpling jig for installing gas blocks. From that thread, I had 50 dimple jigs made. From that idea, I searched for dealer support to help me market the jigs. Rainier Arms, Brownells and Bravo Company USA were a big help in growing this business to what it is today. Since that initial dimple jig design, we have added multiple dimple jig models as well as a line of jigs designed do drill gas blocks for pins. We also developed the first commercially available FSB jig, which is in use by many manufacturers, gunsmiths and home builders.
BRDE is a small family business started by mechanical engineer Jake Carlson. Jake currently does all design work, in house machining and finishing. He also works with the subcontractors who supply the CNC machined dimple jig blanks, water jet cut drilling jig blanks, heat treat and the other vendors who supply us with the other tooling we sell. Jake's engineering background is focused on industrial maintenance and reliability. He has a BSME from the University of North Dakota and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Minnesota.
Katie Carlson is the one who runs the show when you place an order, she's the one who gets the orders to you as quick as possible. She also reminds Jake when inventories are low.
In 2018 as part of an ongoing project, we have added some automotive racing parts to our business, more to come.
